Odissi dance workshop at Kochi by Madhulita Mohapatra; May 5th to 9t

 classical dance institution, Natyarupaka Kala Kendra is organising an Odissi dance workshop for beginners by noted Odissi dancer, Madhulita Mohapatra at Pallikkunnu, Aluva, Kochi from May 5^th to May 9^th 2022. Classes with convenient timings will be in two sessions in the morning & evening.

 

Counted among the leading Odissi dancers, choreographers & teachers of the present younger generation, Madhulita Mohapatra is a recipient of the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for Odissi dance by the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi (New Delhi) and the Kempegowda Award. She is an ‘A’ grade artiste of National Doordarshan (DD National) & an empanelled artiste of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). She has extensively performed in India & overseas. Madhulita Mohapatra is a wonderful dance teacher, passionate, professional & motivating. She brings out the best in her students.

 

This workshop is carefully designed for absolute beginners of Odissi dance and no prior dance experience is needed. This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are new to dancing, those who want to learn the basics of Indian classical dance, for those who want to experience Indian culture, dancers of other styles who want to incorporate technique & movement of Odissi dance, those who want to enhance their communication skills with effective expressions of eyes & hand gestures and those want to try enjoyable dance for fitness & wellbeing.
